EC officials urge PM to announce date for parliamentary election

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Ayodhee Prasad Yadav along with other officials of the Election Commission held a meeting with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at Singha Durbar in the Capital on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they urged the Prime Minister to announce the date for parliamentary election in mid-November.
In response, PM Deuba said that he would discuss the issue with the leaders of three major political parties and move ahead on the heels of their decision.
Meanwhile, the meeting has decided to appoint chief election officers, election officers for the third phase of local level elections slated for September 18.
