Water levels in Kankai, Koshi cross danger mark

The Mainachuli station of DOHM has recorded continuous rise in the water level of Kankai River after it crossed the warning level of 3.70m at 5:50 a.m. this morning.
Likewise, the warning level at Chatra station of Koshi River at 6 am also crossed the 6.17m danger mark. The DOHM has asked people living downstream to stay alert.
According to the latest DOHM bulletin, water flow in rivers from Jhapa to mid-Tarai is likely to go up following the prediction of heavy rainfall in the region.
In next 24 hours, water level is likely to increase in rivers like Kankai, Kamala, Biring, Triyuga, Bagmati, Khado, Ratu, Lal Bakaiya including other small rivers originating from Chure ranges, according to DOHM.
