Women, Children, Senior Citizens and Social Welfare committee under the Legislature-Parliament endorsed the long-awaited Health Profession Education (HPE) Bill 2073 on Friday.

The dossier endorsed by the committee will have to be approved by the majority in the Parliament.

The passage of the Bill was one of the demands raised by agitating Dr Govinda KC, whose hunger strike entered 19th day today.

Meanwhile, representatives of government and Dr KC are holding a discussion at Singha Durbar in the Capital.

Dr KC’s representatives said that the senior orthopedic surgeon would decide whether to break his hunger strike only after studying and discussing the Bill endorsed by the committee.
