Expedite rescue works in flood-affected areas of Saptari: Home Minister

Minister Sharma’s secretariat informed that the Home Minister has directed the Itahari Road Division to send two dozers to the flood-affected area as the flow of the flooded-Khado River is likely to damage the temporary dam.
A team under the command of DSP Yadav Raj Upreti and Nepal Army Major Dipesh Rana Magar are in the area to carry out rescue operation.
According to Saptari Chief District Officer Krishna Bahadur Katuwal, one person has already died in the flood and the body of the deceased is still missing.
CDO Katuwal further informed that the rescue works are underway after flood waters entered Mainakaderi and Bhediya settlements at Tirhut Rural Minicipality in the district.
