According to Area Police Office Chief Pancha Kumar Baakhu, the road at Mahabhir, which is 1km from Barabise, has caved in about 3 feet deep adding that landslide debris have started falling into the road section. He further said that if the excavator reaches the site the road can be operational by Thursday afternoon.
The road section that was earlier eroded by flood at the Bhote Koshi River was repaired to resume transport service.
Several other road sections along the Barabise-Kathmandu stretch including Jure, Balefi have been prone to cave-ins and it will take some time before the roads could be fully maintained, informed Barabise Area Police Office.
