India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Thursday.
During the meeting, the duo discussed contemporary political situation of Nepal and PM Deuba’s upcoming visit to India.
The Indian Minister arrived in Kathmandu today to take part in a meeting of foreign ministers of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).
Earlier in the day, she paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
Minister Swaraj is scheduled to meet top leaders of various political parties.
She came to Nepal days before a scheduled visit of Chinese vice premier Wang Yang and in the wake of a border standoff at Doklam in Sikkim between Beijing and New Delhi.
