A man has been missing after flood water from Khado Khola in Saptari district has entered several settlements of Rajbiraj Municipality after a temporary dam built to hold the rain-fed river gave way on Thursday.

According to the local authorities, Domi Yadav, 60, who was working with Nepal Army personnel to contain the erosion of the dam damaged by the rain-fed river at Deuribharuwa in Rajbiraj Municipality-15, has been missing after being buried under a boulder.

Nine settlements in the area including Biraul, Dumri are at high risk of inundation after the temporary dam made of mud and sand gave way following incessant rain for the past two days at Biraul in Rajbiraj Municipality-10.

However, the local administration has paid no heed towards the threat that has angered the locals.
