In a statement on Wednesday, KUPA unveiled their protest programmes including sit-in and strikes demanding the authority address their demands.
The statement signed by the association’s president Bedmani Dahal has demanded the implementation of workshop report on fourth amendment to Teachers and Staff Service Rules 2050. The demands of the agitating professors include timely promotion of the university lecturers and staffers, promotion of lecturers based on experience, and specify the maximum time for contract renewal in case of contract teachers or staff.
Dahal said that they will stage demonstration wearing black bands and show black flags from August 10 to 16 and will resort to sit-in and strike if the demands were not fulfilled by August 16.
The association decided to launch agitation after their demands were not addressed even though they submitted a three-point memorandum to the vice chancellor on May 9.
