Six people, including four of a family, died in landslides triggered by incessant rains in various parts of Baglung.
Maniman Chantyal, 65, his wife Nandakali, 63, daughter Gita, 18, and daughter-in-law Bindu, 22, of Bahungaun in Nishikhola Rural Municipality-2 were killed after a landslide swept their house away. In Dhorpatan-5, a landslide buried Om Prakash Kami, 53, of Pakhapani to death while Khagisara Sinjali Magar, 76, of Huldi died in a landslide in Nisikhola-1.
In Bajhang, a minor died after he was swept away by the Bauligad stream. A 34-year-old man is missing in a landslide in the district. Similarly, in Kanchanapur, a 72-year-old man died after he was swept away by a local flooded river.
In Rupandehi, a woman, 28, was crushed to death after a section of her house caved in due to floods in the Rohini river in Rupandehi on Friday. Her seven-month-old son survived the disaster with injuries, said police. The flood-swollen river has inundated over a dozen houses in the area. In Nawalparasi, three people were swept away by floods , said Chief District Officer Udaya Bahadur Rana. In Kailali, a 50-year-old man has gone missing in floods.
