The Supreme Court on Thursday postponed till August 10 hearing on a petition against promotion filed by DIG Nawaraj Silwal.
SC Spokesperson Mahendra Upadhyay said a full bench led by Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli decided to continue hearing on the case.
DIG Silwal had moved the apex court on April 11 challenging the government’s decision to appoint Prakash Aryal as the new inspector general of Nepal Police.
DIG Silwal argues in his petition that there have been irregularities while preparing the performance review of the contenders for the top post. He claimed that the review panel deducted two points from his score sheet to promote Aryal to the post of IG.
