CPN-UML district committees to pick candidates for ward chief, members

A Standing Committee meeting of the party held at the residence of party Chairman KP Sharma Oli in Balkot, Bhaktapur, on Thursday made such decision on the recommendations of ward, village and municipal councils.
There are altogether 6,680 wards in the country. The government has decided to hold the local level elections on May 14.
The party, however, has decided to grant responsibility to province committees to select chief and deputy chief of the village and municipal councils.
Meanwhile, the Standing Committee, however, would take the final call to pick metropolitan city and sub-metropolitan city candidates.
