Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a one-on-one meeting with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, India on Friday.
No new agreement was signed between the two countries during the meeting.
The two governments have reached an agreement to appoint consultant for the construction management of Postal Highway and signed two soft loan agreements.
The anticipation on the Nepali side about concrete agreements on the incomplete projects didn't materalise.
Addressing a joint press meeting after the meeting, Modi wished for peace, stability and economic development of Nepal.
“Our friendship is time-tested and unique. We share our burden during difficult times, just as we celebrate each other’s achievements,” said Modi, adding, “As immediate neighbours and close friendly nations, peace, stability of Nepal is our shared objective.”
Commending Dahal's role in strenghtening democratic institution in Nepal, Modi expressed his confidence that under his wise leadership Nepal will successfully implement the constituion through inclusive dialogue, accommodating the aspirations of all sections of diverse soceity.
PM Dahal, who is on a four-day state visit to India, went to Hyderabad House after attending a reception organised at President’s Office. He was welcomed by Indian PM Modi at Hyderabad House.
Earlier in the day, Dahal met Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
