Eleven new SC justices sworn in

Chief Justice Sushila Karki administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed SC justices in the presence of President Bhandari at a function organised at the President’s Office in Sheetal Niwas today.
At the programme, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Vice President Nanda Kishor Pun, Speaker Onsari Gharti, heads of constitutional bodies, Chief Secretary Somlal Subedi, Attorney General Hari Phuyal, Supreme Court justices, justices of appellate court, government secretaries and heads of security bodies were present.
Deep Kumar Karki, Kedar Prasad Chalise, Sharada Prasad Ghimire, Mira Khadka, Bishwambar Prasad Shrestha, Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, Ananda Prasad Bhattarai, Hari Krishna Karki, Anil Kumar Sinha, Prakash Man Singh Raut and Sapana Pradhan Malla have been sworn in as SC justices.
Their names were recommended by the Judicial Council in March. A special committee of Parliament endorsed the names of justices on Sunday.
The newly appointed justices would assume their responsibility later today.
