Nine dead in bus accident in Makwanpur, seven identified
Nine people died when two passenger buses collided at Ramantaar in Makwanpur district along the Hetauda – Narayangadh road on Saturday night.
Nine people died when two passenger buses collided at Ramantaar in Makwanpur district along the Hetauda – Narayangadh road on Saturday night.
Six of them died on the spot, two others breathed their last on their way to treatment and another one declared dead during treatment, DSP at Makwanpur District Police Office Bam Dev Gautam said.
The deceased have been identified as Binod Chaudhary, Santosh Chaudhary, Maniratna Chaudharya and Laxmi Adhikari, Muskan Chaudhary, of Udayapur district, Bishal Dhami, Bhim Kumari Tamang of Bara district have been identified. Two other male have yet to be identified.
A bus (Na 5 Kha 5055) belonging to Agni Yatayat heading towards Jhapa from Kathmandu collided with another night bus (Na 5 Kha 4064) bound for Gaighat from Kathmandu.
Of the 31 people injured in the accident, 17 are receiving medical attention at Chure Hill Hospital in Hetauda, while 14 others returned home after minor treatment.
