Two people were crushed to death as a brick kiln chimney collapsed at Thakre VDC-8 in Dhading district on Friday. Another person was injured after the inner wall of the chimney at Everest brick kiln buried them.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sabin Pradhan said Jamim Kachgar, 60, and his son Salim Kachgar, 5, of Nepalgunj-5 in Banke succumbed to their injuries on their way to Kathmandu for treatment. Another 30-year-old worker, Surendra Budha of Budhagaun-9 in Ropla was rescued, said DSP Pradhan. The wall was 20 meters tall.
Jamim had started to work at the factory with his wife and their 28 donkeys. Police have arrested brick kiln operator Ishwor Aakauli.
