Birtamod
Civil society leaders, politicians, lawmakers, and representatives of several organisations rallied in Birtamod, Jhapa, on Monday, demanding that Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari districts should remain a part of the same province.
The rally was organised after there was a rumour about some parties proposing to split the three districts as a solution to the federal boundary dispute with the agitating Madhes-centric parties,” said lawmaker Sudhir Kumar Shiwakoti. He added that they have no desire for separation of any kind.
Lawmaker Hari Rajbanshi claimed that the present state delineation was scientific, and they will not accept the proposition of dividing the states into more parts.
