Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has remarked that India wants to punish Nepal by imposing blockade.Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has remarked that India wants to punish Nepal by imposing blockade. Leader Nepal said so during a goodwill exchange programme organised by UML Dang chapter in Ghorahi on Friday.
The former prime minister said the India’s embargo is a kind of punishment as Nepalis are facing severe difficulties due to the blockade. Nepal questioned why India wants to punish Nepal after Nepali people drafted their constitution. He also said that India’s move to impose blockade against Nepal for promulgating the new constitution with an overwhelming majority is unnatural.
Leader Nepal also said India has tarnished its reputation as a good neighbour because of its blockade. He also urged the Madhesi people not to get incited from external forces as they are first the Nepali.
He further said the Madhes-centric parties are venting their ire against constitution because they were defeated in the election. He opined that everyone must accept the election result.
Also speaking during the programme, UML Vice Chairman Yubaraj Gyawali, Politburo member Prakash Jwala, Central members Gulab Jung Shah, Metmani Chaudhary, among other leaders, expressed their opinions against the India’s blockade.
