A two-third majority of the party’s central committee (CC) members ousted Pashupati Shumsher Rana from the party chairman post and replaced him with Chand. The party has already communicated to the Election Commission about its leadership. A letter has been sent to the election body with signatures of two-third members of the central committee.
Ousted Chairman Rana said, "The party had already sacked 17 members from Central Commitee on Friday and the information has been duly sent to Election Commission. With this, the Chand-faction is in minority." He added that the party was still under his command."
Rana was accussed of taking unliateral decisions without consulation with the party. Rana was appointed as the chairman on June 8.
The party is due to organise a press meet at 1 pm on Sunday.
