Nepse inches up 2.41 points as turnover declines
Total turnover falls to Rs5.13 billion, with 140 stocks posting losses.Post Report
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index edged up by 2.41 points on Monday, closing at 2,616.87.
The benchmark index had dropped by 27.59 points in the previous trading session on Sunday. Monday’s marginal gain of 0.09 percent helped the market recover slightly from the earlier decline.
Despite the modest rise in the index, market breadth remained negative. Of the companies traded during the session, share prices of 113 advanced, while 140 declined and nine remained unchanged.
A total of 12.62 million shares were traded through 56,347 transactions over the course of the day.
The total turnover stood at Rs5.13 billion, marking a decline compared to Sunday’s trading volume. In the previous session, the market had recorded a turnover of Rs6.69 billion.
