NOC hikes diesel and kerosene prices, cuts aviation fuel rates

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of diesel and kerosene by Rs3 per litre, while reducing the prices of aviation fuel, effective from Saturday midnight.
Following the adjustment, diesel and kerosene have been fixed at Rs136.50 per litre in Category A areas, Rs138 per litre in Category B areas and Rs139 per litre in Category C areas.
“Category A depots include Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi. Surkhet and Dang fall under Category B, while Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal have been classified as Category C,” the NOC said in a statement on Saturday, “The revised retail prices will apply within a 15-kilometre radius of the respective depots.”
Meanwhile, the corporation has reduced the price of aviation fuel. Domestic aviation fuel has been cut by Re1 per litre, while international aviation fuel in Kathmandu has been reduced by USD 7 per kilolitre. After the revision, domestic aviation fuel now costs Rs127 per litre, while international aviation fuel stands at USD 966 per kilolitre.
NOC stated that the price adjustment was made in line with the new procurement rates received from Indian Oil Corporation. According to the latest rates, petrol prices increased marginally by Rs0.12 per litre, diesel and kerosene by Rs4.66 per litre, and LPG by Rs45.49 per cylinder, while aviation fuel prices declined by Rs1.08 per litre, prompting the revision in retail prices.
