Nepse edges up 5.08 points amid mixed sector performance

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index posted a modest gain on Wednesday, rising by 5.08 points as trading ended on a mixed note.
The benchmark index increased by 0.18 per cent to close at 2,731.59 points. Share prices of 141 companies advanced, while 112 declined and seven remained unchanged.
Of the 13 sub-indices, banking, investment, life insurance, microfinance and non-life insurance closed lower. The remaining sub-groups recorded gains.
A total of 23,618,186 shares were traded through 121,992 transactions during the session. According to the exchange, total turnover stood at Rs11.49 billion.
