Ride-hailing platform Yango is providing free transportation for relief supplies through its Yango Delivery Cargo service, helping humanitarian organisations deliver aid to communities affected by the recent Bhotekoshi floods.

Working with local NGOs, Yango says the initiative has helped deliver relief supplies to more than 1,000 people in Rasuwa, Dhading and Nuwakot.

The company said it began supporting the relief effort in its early stages and continues to provide transport assistance as humanitarian operations remain underway. Through Yango Delivery, it has helped organisations including Hami Nepal, Astitwa Nepal and Crisis Connect Nepal transport relief supplies within Kathmandu and from collection points in the capital to affected communities outside the valley, according to a company statement.

Yango’s driver-partner community has also contributed to the relief effort. On September 2, Easy Ride Nepal, a Yango fleet partner, organised a blood donation drive in its local community with Yango Nepal’s leadership, including Country Manager Santosh Pandey.

The event brought together Yango representatives, fleet partners, drivers and residents from nearby neighbourhoods.

“There are moments when the usual metrics stop mattering. Nobody on our team was thinking about rides or orders when the news from Bhotekoshi came in—we were thinking about the fastest way to be useful,” Pandey said. “What we have is access to large vehicles, partner drivers and a network that moves things every single day.”

“In moments like these, the only thing that truly matters is putting what you have in the hands of the people doing the real work on the ground—and getting out of their way,” he said.

Yango also said it used its digital platform to help Nepalis contribute directly to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund. A dedicated banner on the Yango app directed users to the official fund’s webpage, where they could find information about the relief effort and make donations to support flood-affected communities.
