Nepse dips 3.07 points despite higher turnover
Benchmark index slips 0.11 percent, while trading volume climbs to Rs16.35 billion.Post Report
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index edged down by 3.07 points on Monday, closing lower despite a rise in overall trading volume.
Compared to the previous session, the benchmark index declined by 0.11 per cent to settle at 2,769.09 points. Market breadth remained negative, with share prices of 165 companies falling, while 88 advanced and seven remained unchanged.
Of the 13 sub-indices, only four—hotels and tourism, hydropower, manufacturing and processing, and mutual funds—ended the session in positive territory. The remaining sub-groups closed lower.
A total of 36,264,873 shares were traded through 147,676 transactions during the session. According to the exchange, the day’s turnover stood at Rs16.35 billion.
Monday’s turnover marked the highest daily trading volume since mid-August. The previous high was recorded on August 15, 2025, when shares worth Rs16.44 billion were traded.
