Nepse extends losing streak, falls by 13.88 points on Monday
Over 200 stocks decline as turnover reaches Rs3.51 billion; most sub-indices end in the redPost Report
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index continued its downward trajectory on Monday, dropping 13.88 points to close at 2,581.21. The benchmark fell 0.53 percent compared to Sunday, when it had already slid by 19.92 points.
Market breadth remained weak, with 54 companies recording gains, 200 losing value and five remaining unchanged.
Analysts said the large number of declining stocks contributed to sustained selling pressure in the market.
A total of 91.67 million shares worth Rs3.51 billion changed hands in 65,312 transactions, indicating moderate turnover despite the ongoing correction.
All trading sub-indices except trading stayed in negative territory. The trading sub-index rose by 21.64 points, while life insurance fell by 132.39 points and hotels and tourism shed 86.96 points.
This marks yet another session of broad-based decline, reflecting cautious investor sentiment amid continued volatility.
