Nepse jumps to 2,600 as turnover crosses Rs6 billion
Benchmark rises 39.92 points on Sunday; life insurance and investment subgroups lead gains.Post Report
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) opened the week on a positive note, surging by 39.92 points on Sunday to close at the 2,600 mark, as the market remained bullish throughout the trading session.
Turnover saw a significant rise, climbing to Rs6.28 billion from Thursday’s Rs4.68 billion, with buying pressure visible across most major subgroups.
Share prices increased for 237 listed companies, while 18 declined and two remained unchanged.
Life insurance and investment subgroups posted the strongest advances, rising by 2.55 percent and 2.03 percent respectively.
Three companies—Sagar Distillery, Bandipur Cablecar and Jhapa Energy—hit the 10-percent positive circuit.
People’s Hydropower was the biggest loser of the day, falling 7.65 percent. Modi Energy dropped 4.49 percent, Saptakoshi Development Bank 4.47 percent and Sindhu Development Bank 4.18 percent.
NRN Infrastructure, People’s Hydropower, Radhi Hydropower, Nepal Reinsurance and Shivam Cements were the five most traded companies by value.
