Nepse drops by 8.24 points as majority of companies see losses

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index fell by 8.24 points on Sunday, declining by 0.31 percent to close at 2,622.89 points compared to the previous trading day.
According to Nepse, a total of 12.18 million shares worth Rs6.05 billion were traded 54,982 times. Out of the total listed companies, share prices of 72 rose, 172 declined, and 5 remained unchanged.
Among the 13 subgroups, all except development banks, hotels and tourism, manufacturing and processing, mutual funds, others, and trading ended in negative territory.
Muktinath Krishi Company saw the highest gain of 9.99 percent, followed closely by Excel Development Bank, which rose by 9.98 percent. Conversely, Eastern Hydropower hit the negative circuit after its share price plunged by 10 percent.
In terms of turnover, Shivam Cements, NRN Infrastructure and Development, Radhi Hydropower, Synergy Power Development, and Union Hydropower were the top-traded companies of the day.
