The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) fell by 19.89 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,741.97, as all 13 sectoral sub-indices ended in the red.
The benchmark index declined by 0.72 percent compared to the previous trading day. This follows a gain on Monday, which had briefly halted the market’s losing streak of the previous sessions.
A total of 10.53 million shares of 250 companies were traded in 89,775 transactions, amounting to Rs4.43 billion in turnover, down from Rs5.10 billion recorded on Monday.
On the day, share prices of 29 companies advanced while 221 declined, pulling the overall index lower.
The broad-based fall across all sectors contributed to Tuesday’s downturn, nearly erasing the recovery made in the earlier session.
