The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index gained 12.03 points on Monday to close at 2,761.86, a rise of 0.43 percent compared to the previous trading day. The uptick comes after the market had shed nearly 70 points over the past two sessions.
Out of the companies traded, share prices of 143 advanced, 106 declined and two remained unchanged, resulting in a double-digit rise in the benchmark index.
The market witnessed 68,775 transactions involving 11.44 million shares, amounting to a turnover of Rs5.10 billion. This marked a decline from Sunday’s turnover of Rs6.06 billion.
Among the 13 sub-indices, all except trade and others ended higher, helping lift the overall market into positive territory.
