Nepse edges up nearly 5 points as turnover dips

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) inched up by 4.83 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,766.09 points, a rise of 0.17 percent compared to the previous day.
Despite the slight gain, overall market turnover fell to Rs4.18 billion, down from Rs5.75 billion recorded on Monday. A total of 9.24 million shares were traded in 45,116 transactions.
According to the stock exchange, share prices of 101 companies advanced, while 149 declined. Although more firms recorded losses, gains in key sub-indices lifted the overall benchmark.
Out of 13 trading sub-groups, investment, manufacturing and processing, microfinance, and non-life insurance posted declines. The remaining sub-indices ended in positive territory, helping the market notch a modest improvement.
