Nepse drops 18.44 points as market opens week on a weak note

The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) Index declined by 18.44 points on Sunday, closing at 2,964.20 as trading resumed for the week.
The drop represents a 0.61 percent fall compared to the previous trading session on Thursday. Investor sentiment remained cautious amid broad-based losses across most sectors.
Out of the 249 listed companies, 63 recorded gains, while the share prices of 186 firms declined.
According to Nepse data, turnover for the day reached Rs26.57 billion, with a total of 58.65 million shares traded across 203,658 transactions.
Only a few sub-indices managed to post gains, namely development banks, manufacturing & processing, microfinance, mutual funds, and trading. All other sectors ended in the red.
Samata Gharelu Microfinance and Trade Tower Ltd saw their share prices surge by the daily limit of 10 percent, triggering circuit breakers during the session.
