Nepse climbs 21.76 points as turnover tops Rs16 billion
Gains across all sub-indices support index rise, but daily turnover falls short of Sunday’s total.
Post Report
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) Index rose by 21.76 points to close at 2,892.72 on Monday, marking a 0.75 percent increase compared to the previous trading day.
Of the companies that traded, 153 saw their share prices rise while 96 declined. A total of 35.65 million shares were exchanged in 138,828 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of Rs16.32 billion.
While Monday’s turnover was significant, it was lower than Sunday’s Rs21.5 billion, reflecting a slight dip in trading activity despite overall market growth.
All 13 sub-indices posted gains, contributing to the day’s market rally. The broad-based increase in sectoral indices helped lift investor sentiment and provided momentum for the overall market.
Analysts say the breadth of gains across sectors shows sustained confidence among investors, even though the slight drop in daily turnover suggests a more cautious trading environment compared to the previous session.
