As part of Marriott’s regional initiative to plant 100,000 trees, Aloft Kathmandu Thamel has contributed over 700 trees to the effort, aligning with the hotel chain’s growing commitment to sustainability.
Marriott India and Nepal carried out the tree plantation drive across more than 150 properties to mark World Environment Day 2025. This year’s initiative builds on the “two trees per room” campaign launched in 2024 and represents a significant scale-up from last year’s effort, which saw 32,600 trees planted by 4,900 volunteers.
“This year, we chose to take action on two fronts—planting trees for the future and cleaning up the present,” said Vikram Singh, General Manager of Aloft Kathmandu Thamel. “At Aloft, sustainability is not just a slogan—it’s a culture we live and breathe daily.”
The company also partnered with local reforestation organisations to ensure tree planting efforts supported biodiversity and ecological restoration.
