NEPSE climbs 17.44 points; turnover rises to Rs8.58 billion
Benchmark index closes at 2,693.06 on Wednesday, with gains in most subgroups

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted a gain of 17.44 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,693.06. The rise represents a 0.65 percent increase from Tuesday’s session, when the index had edged up marginally.
The overall market saw an uptick not only in the index but also in trading volume and turnover. A total of 20.75 million shares changed hands through 77,316 transactions, amounting to a turnover of Rs8.58 billion—up significantly from Tuesday’s Rs6.52 billion.
Of the companies traded, share prices of 148 firms rose, while 97 declined and two remained unchanged.
Among the 13 subgroups, indices for life insurance, microfinance, non-life insurance, and others recorded losses. However, gains in the remaining sectors were strong enough to push the benchmark index into double-digit growth, according to NEPSE data.
