Delegation urges Industry Minister to resolve Intellectual Property Rights issues
The problem is affecting Indian companies and multinationals operating in Nepal.Post Report
A delegation from Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) lead by its vice president and business head of Dabur Nepal Harkirat Singh Bedi paid a courtesy call to Industry Minister Dilendra Prasad Badu at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies in Kathmandu on Monday.
Bedi was accompanied by co-convener of Indian Business Forum at NICCI Saibal Ghosh, Director General of NICCI Keshab Man Singh and Deputy Director Marshal Rathour.
The delegation team updated the minister about the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). It is an issue that Indian and multinational companies operating in Nepal have been trying to get more attention for over a decade.
Since the government has given priority to bring FDIs to invest in Nepal, the delegation suggested, that unless the issues related to IPR are resolved, it is really very hard to bring FDIs into Nepal. (PR)
