Kantipur Media Group (KMG) has invested in Apex College Private Limited with an aim to create further opportunities for students and the institution.
Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, KMG said that the company was thrilled to announce the beginning of cooperation and collaboration with a highly committed educational institution.
Apex College and Kantipur Media Group on December 6 had signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation and collaboration on a wide range of issues with a view to furthering the goals of each institution.
According to a press statement issued after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, as part of the agreement, Kantipur Media Group will provide internship and placements to students of Apex College Private Limited (Apex) and access to its archives to assist students and faculty’ research and publications.
Likewise, on December 8 the educational institution and MNS Next Venture Corp, a sister company of the KMG, had agreed to set up a Rs10 million fund for a startup centre for the development and promotion of youth entrepreneurship.
The areas of cooperation include placement and internship opportunities, research collaborations and industry knowledge sharing, among others.
The college also informed that it plans to set up a Business Intelligence Centre, conduct market research and it’s publication, in the near future.
“The centre will regularly conduct case studies on various business houses and this will be useful for businessmen, entrepreneurs, market researchers and change makers alike,” reads the statement.
Stating that the college has transitioned into a paperless organisation, Apex said that it is also working to establish a digital wing that would ease in conducting classes in case of lockdown situations like the ones experienced last year and earlier this year.
“The digital wing will facilitate in increasing the learning capabilities of the students, effectively prepare them for examinations and provide the necessary support to students who want to pursue a comprehensive study of various subjects,” the statement reads.
KMG publishes two national dailies—Kantipur and The Kathmandu Post—and a monthly women’s magazine, Nari. It also operates Kantipur Television and Radio Kantipur.
