KMG and Apex College sign Memorandum of Understanding
The agreement envisions cooperation and collaboration in areas of mutual interest to cater to the needs of the changing timesPost Report
Apex College Private Limited and Kantipur Media Group on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation and collaboration on a wide range of issues with a view to furthering the goals of each institution.
The areas of cooperation include placement and internship opportunities, research collaborations and industry knowledge sharing, among others.
According to a press statement issued after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, as part of the agreement, Kantipur Media Group will provide internship and placements to students of Apex College Private Limited (Apex) and access to its archive to assist students and faculty’ research and publications.
KMG publishes two national dailies—Kantipur and The Kathmandu Post. It also operates Kantipur Television and Radio Kantipur.
The television channel and radio station under KMG will provide their expertise through various mediums to excel Apex Media Club of the college.
Similarly, Kantipur Digital Corp will provide internships to the students of BCIS programme of Apex College.
This placement and internship tie up will assist young professionals to acquire personal and professional skills and help to build up a network and develop industry related skills, while also assisting KMG in discovering fresh new talent in the market.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mahesh Swar, Assistant General Manager, Kantipur Media Group and LP Bhanu Sharma, Principal, Apex College.
The agreement also includes assisting for a platform that brings together the industry executives and academic leaders under one roof, creating a vibrant discussion forum.
The agreement also envisions joint research projects in fields of mutual interests.
“This agreement between KMG and Apex aims to create a wider platform where resources from both institutions could be pulled to cater to the needs in the changing times,” said Swar, the Assistant General Manager at KMG. “This Memorandum of Understanding will create a win-win situation for both the parties.”
