Huawei has launched two new AI powered smartphones, the Nova 3 and 3i in Nepal. Both smartphones pack four cameras each — two on the back and two on the front.

Prebookings for the new smartphones have opened.

Both phones share a lot of features such as AI-powered rear and dual front cameras, design aesthetic and more.

The Nova 3 is the more expensive of the duo. Powering the Nova 3 is Huawei’s latest octa-core Kirin 970 processor, a new generation of hyper-fast mobile chip with a Neural Processing Unit. It also has 6GB RAM for smooth multi-tasking.

The Nova 3 comes with dual cameras on both the front and rear. The vertically stacked rear camera setup consists of a 16MP primary camera plus a 24MP secondary camera, both with f1.8 apertures. Flip the phone over for selfies and you will find the 24MP primary camera plus a 2MP secondary camera.

Other notable features include the 6.3 inch Full HD panel with 3D curved glass, USB type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack and a notch similar to the one found on the iPhone X. The notch allows Huawei to squeeze in components such as the IR Face Unlock and the dual cameras to achieve a borderless look with a claimed 83 percent screen-to-body ratio. It also features a 3,750mAh battery.

The Nova 3i is the ‘lite’ version of its bigger brother the Nova 3. It comes with the same 6.3 inch display with the same aspect ratio and the notch. The Nova 3i also features dual cameras on the front and rear albeit with a lower megapixel count.

The rear camera setup gets a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. It also comes with a different processor, the HiSilicon Kirin 710 SOC. According to the company, the Nova 3i is the first smartphone to feature this new 12nm chip which is coupled with 4GB RAM. It also gets a smaller battery, a 3,340mAh unit compared to the Nova 3.

Both the Nova 3 and Nova 3i come with EMUI 8.2 that is running on Android 8.1 Oreo and have similar software features.
