Pickup trucks are undergoing a fascinating shift compared to pickups of yesteryear. No longer are pickup trucks just used as a drivable wheelbarrow, carrying a load from point A to B. Now, the folks at Volkwagen are reinventing the idea of a pickup in the form of their latest creation, the Amarok.

The Amarok is a pickup like no other, uniting cross-country mobility, flexibility and efficiency in one solid hunk of a vehicle.

Set on a robust ladder-frame chassis and encased in legendary Volkswagen build quality, the Amarok is packed full of smart technology and design, reads a press release.

The new Amarok has just the right dimension, boasts the widest load platform in its class and provides a whole lot of space and comfort in the passenger compartment, reads the press release.

Powering the Amarok is a powerful 2.0 litre TDI Biturbo engine that sets new standards in terms of power, torque, fuel economy and CO2 emissions. The pickup also offers the performance in its segment, reads the press release.

The Amarok features a high quality interior, low noise levels and driving characteristics that leave nothing to be desired. In terms of comfort and ride dynamics, Volkswagen is setting the bar very high, reads the press release.

Anyone driving the Amarok will feel like they are in a protective bubble as the pickup is one of the safest vehicles in the pickup segment. It gets shiftable and permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive systems along with driver assist features like off-road ABS (Anti-lock braking system) and ESP (Electronic stability control), reads the press release. Add to the equation the Amarok’s wide wheelbase and high ground clearance and this makes the pickup a joy to ride on the rapidly deteriorating roads of Nepal. Volkswagen claims that these features provide the Amarok with traction and safe handling while driving across any terrain.

Then there’s its ability to shoulder the load. The Amarok might be fitted with all the bells and whistles but it stays true to its pickup heritage, with the ability to accommodate a Euro pallet crosswise between its wheel arches—the largest area in its segment.

The Amarok was launched by Pooja International Nepal Pvt Ltd—authorised importer of Volkswagen vehicles—at a function in Kathmandu, reads the press release.

2017 Tiguan now available

Pooja International Nepal Pvt Ltd, authorised distributor of Volkswagen vehicles has launched the new highly popular Tiguan at a press conference in Kathmandu.

The Tiguan is now more efficient, spacious, safe and comfortable with a dynamic drive system and appearance. And it got the looks too, winning the German Design Award 2017, reads a press release.

The Tiguan is equipped with a powerful and efficient 2.0 litre TDI engine mated to a 7-speed automatic DSG transmission that offers a fuel efficiency of 17.06 kmpl. It can store up to 71 litres of fuel.

The preppy engine delivers peak power of 143 PS and guarantees sheer adrenaline rush for the occupants, reads the press release. The new Tiguan will be available in four variants. Prices start from Rs99 lakh.
