Awasthi elected Sejon president
The Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (Sejon) on Friday elected its new executive committee led by Gokarna Awasthi, a journalist affiliated to the Kantipur daily.

The Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (Sejon) on Friday elected its new executive committee led by Gokarna Awasthi, a journalist affiliated to the Kantipur daily.
At the election held on Friday, Awasthi received 109 votes, while his opponents Kuvera Chalise of the Republica daily and Lok Bahadur Chapagain of the Karobar daily secured 78 and 27 votes respectively.
Likewise, Pushpa Acharya and Modnath Dhakal were elected vice president and general-secretary respectively. Ram Raja Shrestha and Bhim Gautam were announced secretary and treasurer.
Saraswati Dhakal, Anil Pariyar, Sujan Oli, Sabin Mishra and Bhagwat Bhattarai have been elected executive members. Out of the 236 eligible voters, 223 cast the ballot.
