Nepal on Wednesday reported 242 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 996,231.

Similarly, 245 people tested positive in a total of 2,371 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Wednesday, 5,878,359 PCR and 1,343,236 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 1,806 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The country reported one Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,995 since the pandemic began.

According to the ministry, 979,938 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 164 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 4,298.

In the past 24 hours, 16 new infections were reported in Province 1, 10 in Madhes Province, 166 in Bagmati, eight in Gandaki, 22 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and 17 in Sudurpaschim.

Nepal on Tuesday reported 343 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 405 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death were recorded on Monday and 202 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were reported on Sunday.
