Nepal logs 21 new Covid-19 cases

Nepal on Monday reported 15 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 978,347.

Similarly, six people tested positive in a total of 1,157 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.

As of Monday, 5,534,505 PCR and 1,123,184 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 5,152 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The country did not report any Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,951 since the pandemic began.

According to the ministry, 965,142 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 319 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 1,254.

Kathmandu Valley recorded three new infections in the past 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, four new infections were recorded in Province 1, five in Bagmati, one in Gandaki and five in Lumbini.

On Monday, 23 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another three– one in Province 1 and two in Bagmati– were on ventilator support.

Nepal on Sunday reported 15 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases. Similarly, eight new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were reported on Saturday and 12 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were reported on Friday.
