The Indian Army on Thursday provided 100,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines to the Nepali Army.
This is the second time the Indian Army provided Covid-19 vaccine to its Nepali counterpart.
“We received 100,000 doses of Covishield vaccine from the Indian Army today,” said Brigadier General Narayan Silwal, spokesperson for the Nepali Army. “We have been informed that the shelf life of the vaccine is short. We will use this consignment of vaccines on the Army personnel and their dependents at the earliest.”
In March last year, the Indian army had provided 100,000 doses of Covishield, the AstraZeneca type vaccine, to Nepali Army.
In November last year, the People’s Liberation Army of China also provided 300,000 doses of Vero Cell vaccine to the Nepali Army.
The jabs were also used on the army personnel, and their dependents.
So far, 17,235,938 people have been fully immunised, according to the Health Ministry.
