Nepal reports 312 cases as rapid antigen tests added to daily infection tallies

Nepal on Wednesday reported 256 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 976,361.
Similarly, 56 people tested positive in a total of 3,590 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 5,397,706 PCR and 1,048,323 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,103 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
Two people died from Covid-19-related infections in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,930 since the pandemic began.
According to the ministry, 954,341 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 911 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 10,090.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 87 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 67 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 10 in Lalitpur and 10 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 47 new infections were recorded in Province 1, nine in Madhesh Pradesh, 122 in Bagmati, 33 in Gandaki, 19 in Lumbini, seven in Karnali and 18 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, three districts are home to more than 500 active cases each, other 10 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Wednesday, 105 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 19—two in Province 1, 14 in Bagmati and one in Gandaki and two Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 299 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and three deaths. Similarly, 247 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and four deaths were reported on Monday and 229 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and four deaths were reported on Sunday.
