Nepal reports 388 cases as rapid antigen tests added to daily infection tallies

Nepal on Monday reported 247 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 975,806.
Similarly, 141 people tested positive in a total of 2,915 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 5,384,999 PCR and 1,041,913 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,225 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
Four people died from Covid-19-related infections in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,925 since the pandemic began.
According to the ministry, 952,599 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,205 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 11,282.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 96 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 77 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 11 in Lalitpur and eight in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 54 new infections were recorded in Province 1, seven in Madhesh Pradesh, 123 in Bagmati, 28 in Gandaki, 21 in Lumbini, four in Karnali and five in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, five districts are home to more than 500 active cases each, other seven districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Monday, 139 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 19—two in Province 1 and 17 in Bagmati—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 229 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and four deaths. Similarly, 198 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and four deaths were reported on Saturday and 275 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Friday.
