Nepal reports 838 new Covid-19 cases, 13 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 10,949 and the number of active cases stands at 26,757.Post Report
Nepal on Sunday reported 838 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 777,163.
Similarly, 73 people tested positive in a total of 3,140 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Sunday, 4,022,061 PCR and 511,981 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,878 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 13 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 10,949. The number of active cases stands at 26,757.
According to the ministry, 739,457 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,423 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 309 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 187 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 56 in Lalitpur and 66 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 168 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 11 in Province 2, 362 in Bagmati, 170 in Gandaki, 63 in Lumbini, 45 in Karnali and 19 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 13 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 20 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Sunday, 454 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 140-34 in Province 1, 88 in Bagmati, four in Gandaki, 10 in Lumbini and four in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Saturday reported 777 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths. Similarly, 961 new coronavirus cases and 21 deaths were reported on Friday and 1,058 new coronavirus cases and 14 deaths were reported on Thursday.
