Nepal on Monday reported seven more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,795. The country also recorded 742 new cases.

The overall infection tally has reached 254,514 with 7,976 active cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 244,743 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 1,079 in the past 24 hours.

Kathmandu Valley recorded 311 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 235 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 55 in Lalitpur and 21 in Bhaktapur.

As of Monday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 118,422. While Kathmandu has reported 454 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 142 and 97 deaths respectively.

According to the ministry, 891 individuals from Bagmati Province, 226 from Lumbini Province, 213 from Province 1, 210 from Province 2, 177 from Gandaki Province, 54 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 24 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.

As of Monday, 1,877,181 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.

A total of 6,351 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.

In the past 24 hours, 60 new infections were reported in Province 1, nine in Province 2, and 404 in Bagmati Province.

Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 96, 100, 28 and 45 cases respectively.

Two districts—Kathmandu and Lalitpur—have more than 500 active cases. Manang and Mugu do not have any active case, according to the ministry.

While 279 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 57 others—32 in Bagmati Province, 10 in Gandaki, four each in Province 1, Province 2 and Lumbini; and three Karnali—are on ventilator support.

Nepal on Sunday reported 11 more Covid-19-related deaths and 588 new cases. The country on Saturday had reported 12 more Covid-19-related fatalities and 710 new cases. On Friday, 16 Covid-19-related fatalities and 782 new infections were recorded and six deaths and 776 new infections were recorded on Thursday.
