Mandala Theatre’s new production examines fame and the fragile truths behind self-made personas.Post Report
Mandala Theatre Nepal is presenting ‘Atiranjan ko Manoranjan’, a drama set in the music industry and the people in it. The play will run from April 1 to April 26 every day on the premises of Mandala.
Directed by Sagar Khati Kami and team, the cast includes actors Somnath Khanal, Sandeep Shrestha, Swopnil Ghimire, Roshan Adhikari, Yasoda Gurung, Sanam Shrestha, Chakra Bista, Rijan Lama, Indra Bahadur Rai, Samir Bhandari, Amrit Sunar, Roshan Murmu, Mridul Dhakal, Susmita Karki, Sayujya Bhandari, and Bhaskar Budha. It is written by Samyog Guragain.
The play revolves around a superstar who makes a long-awaited comeback to the stage and the interactions among his fans. Through different characters, it delves into human psychology, reflecting on escapism and urging people to recognise themselves honestly, speak up, and not remain trapped in illusions.

‘Atiranjanko Manoranjan’ shows the pleasure of exaggeration and self-made illusions and asks what happens when we begin to live inside them.
According to the Theatre, “Each character arrives with personal motives, presenting themselves as composed, powerful, and in control. However, as the narrative progresses, their facades begin to crack, revealing deeply hidden vulnerabilities and emotional fractures.”
