The weather is forecast to be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country on Thursday.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur in some places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini Province, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces and in a few places in the rest of the provinces.
There are also chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
Tonight, there are chances of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places in the Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces and at a few places in the rest of the provinces. Likewise, there are chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
Monsoon winds are currently affecting the entire country. The monsoon trough is positioned around its average location in the western region and slightly south of its average position in the eastern region.
On Wednesday, Dipayal recorded a maximum temperature of 33.5°C while the lowest temperature was recorded in Jomsom at 14.5°C. The highest rainfall, 22.0mm, was recorded in Simara. Kathmandu recorded a maximum temperature of 30.7°C and a minimum of 19.5°C, with 2.2mm of rainfall in the past 24 hours.
