Driving licence services suspended amid recurring system failures
Frequent technical glitches disrupt licence issuance and renewals, leaving thousands of applicants in limbo.

The Department of Transport Management on Friday suspended all services related to driving licences due to recurring technical problems, the latest in a series of disruptions that have repeatedly affected service delivery.
In a public notice, the department said services, including the electronic driving licence (EDL) system, online application portal, and emergency licence printing, have been halted until further notice.
“The services related to driving licences are suspended until a new notice is issued,” the statement said, citing ongoing efforts to fix the issue.
Technical failures have frequently crippled Nepal’s licence issuance system, causing widespread frustration among service seekers. Thousands are often left waiting for weeks or even months to get new or renew their licences.
