Three persons killed in massive Kapan fire

At least three people died in a massive fire that broke out in a house in Kapan on Wednesday evening.
Superintendent of Police at the District Police Range, Kathmandu Dinesh Raj Mainali said three people have been confirmed dead, and an injured has been admitted to Karuna Hospital at Kapan in the Budhanilakantha Municipality.
“Their identities are yet to be confirmed, but they are all employees of a trekking firm,” said Mainali.
Police said the blaze broke out at 7pm in a building belonging to Tanka Ghising in Budhanilakantha-10 after a gas leak. The fire was tamed by 9pm, they said.
“This a great misfortune,” said Mitharam Adhikari, the mayor.
“My house is just half-a-kilometre away from Ghising’s house. I was at a meeting and immediately after learning about the incident I came here and involved myself in rescue work.”
A large number of security personnel including those from Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and municipal police and Kathmandu Valley’s five various fire brigades brought the fire under control after two hours.
